This is a working draft. Final language must be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before public launch. Do not rely on this document as legal advice or as a final policy.

1. Who we are

APPadap, Inc. ("APPadap," "we," "our," "us") operates a locum-tenens job aggregation, community, and tracking platform serving advanced practice providers. This policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information.

2. What we collect

We collect information in three categories:

  • Information you provide: name, NPI number, professional credentials, license states, contact information, government ID (during identity verification), pseudonym, profile preferences, posts, reviews, and messages.
  • Information collected automatically: device and browser information, IP address, cookies and similar technologies, usage analytics, and crash reports.
  • Information from third parties: credential verification services (Persona / Stripe Identity), staffing partner application status, optional bank-aggregation data via Plaid (only if you connect your bank).

We do not collect Protected Health Information (PHI) about your patients, and our platform is designed so that providers should not enter PHI into APPadap. If you do enter PHI by mistake, please contact us so we can remove it.

3. How we use information

  • To verify your professional credentials and identity.
  • To match you with relevant assignments and surface peer reviews.
  • To facilitate applications to staffing partners (with your consent on each application).
  • To provide income, tax-estimation, credentialing-tracking, and relocation features.
  • To moderate community content and protect the platform from abuse.
  • To communicate with you about your account and the service.
  • To improve the product through aggregated, de-identified analytics.

4. How we share information

We share information only as follows:

  • With staffing partners — only when you affirmatively apply to one of their assignments.
  • With service providers — cloud hosting, identity verification, payment processing, email delivery, analytics — under contractual confidentiality obligations.
  • With regulators or in response to legal process — when legally required.
  • Anonymized, aggregated data — for industry research and platform improvements; never re-identifiable.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your contact data with recruiters or marketers without your explicit, application-specific consent.

5. Anonymous reviews and identity

Reviews you post are public under your chosen pseudonym. We retain the link between your pseudonym and your verified identity internally, accessible only to a limited audit team and only under specific circumstances such as: (a) a valid legal subpoena, (b) a verified threat-to-safety situation, or (c) a credible defamation claim that meets our review-policy threshold. Our editorial policy and moderation rules are public.

6. Your choices and rights

  • You can pause your profile, hide from any partner, or delete your account at any time.
  • You can export your data — assignment history, reviews, financial logs, credentials — in a portable format.
  • Depending on your state or country (CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, others), you may have additional rights to access, correct, restrict, or delete data. Contact us to exercise them.
  • You can opt out of non-essential email at any time via the unsubscribe link.

7. Data security

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards: encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest, access controls, audit logging, and ongoing security testing. While our platform is designed so that providers should not enter PHI, we operate with HIPAA-aligned controls in any data category that touches HIPAA-adjacent information. We are pursuing SOC 2 Type II attestation.

8. International users

APPadap is operated from the United States. By using the platform, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States.

9. Children

APPadap is not directed to anyone under the age of 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

10. Changes

We will notify you of material changes by email and/or via the platform at least thirty (30) days before they take effect.
